Anne-Marie passed away peacefully at Boundary Trails Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 66 years.
Anne-Marie grew up in Elie, Manitoba with her siblings, Denise, Gilles, Lucille, Estelle, Jeanine, Marc, Phil and Carol. Anne-Marie married her childhood sweetheart, Marc on April 28, 1984. Together, they had five children: Julie, Rachelle, Richard, Jérémie and Joelle. She was extremely proud of her kids and grandkids; Arianne, Zola, Emeric, Liv, Lexi, Nash and Sadie.
Anne-Marie was an incredible mother, mémère, sister and friend. Anne-Marie’s presence and smile felt like a welcome to everyone. Her grandchildren among other children were drawn to her naturally because she truly listened to their small worries and encouraged their big dreams. Her love extended beyond children and into the heart of the community. Her strength was gentle, her generosity steady and impact lasting. In loving children, caring for neighbours, and serving others with an open heart, she created a ripple effect of kindness. Mom was a teacher first and foremost, a passion that was evident throughout her life. She was Marc’s partner in farming, loved gardening and canning. Beyond that, she grew a love for travelling and going on adventures with Marc, running and recently playing pickleball with members of her community.
Anne-Marie will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, the extended Legault and Dureault families and all her friends.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at CancerCare (Health Sciences Centre/Boundary Trails). We are especially thankful for the kindness and compassion shown to Anne-Marie from the medical staff and Palliative Team at Boundary Trails Health Centre.
A Church Service will be held in Anne-Marie’s honour at the Fannystelle Church on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., all are welcome. A private family interment will follow for Anne-Marie and Marc’s and siblings and families. The service will be live-streamed at www.afh.ca
